resolving issues with journal names not outputting correctly

Issue: 

CAS and Extension faculty identified an issue where Journal Name was not outputting correctly on their web profiles.  Subsequent review found this issue also occurred for all reports generated by DM.

Resolution:

DM updated their configuration of the Publications and Intellectual Contribution screen a while ago by splitting the current Publisher/Journal Name field into two.  OSU never received this change which has led to the identified issue because all citations were updated to reflect teh new Journal Name field.  

Actions being taken:

  • DM made the necessary configuration change.
  • All DM publication records were exported from the system and re-imported to move the Publisher data into the newly created Journal Name field
    1. Contribution Type = Journal
    2. User Reference Creator = Yes (only update record owners)
    3. Journal_Name = content of Publisher data
    4. Publisher field = Null
    5. 12,948 records updated
