The Publication and Intellectual Contribution template is for all the kinds of content that you might create, regardless of how it is “published” or disseminated. Learning which fields you can ignore (and which you cannot) will ensure that your records sort correctly in your reports. Multiple colleges at OSU use this instance of Faculty Success and vary in their information needs. This video – representative of the needs of the College of Agriculture, the College of Forestry and Extension will give you some pointers.
There is an extensive list of publication types; familiarize yourself with this list. While many are self-explanatory, please note:
Whatever type of content you are reporting, it’s essential that you complete the following fields, so that Faculty Success can sort your efforts appropriately:
See the Managing a List of Names training resource in the case of multiple authors. At this time, we are working with the software license holder to enable a more appropriate author role list.
The “Publisher of item” field takes precedence over the “Journal name” field. If your document is a journal article, enter only the journal name, and not the publisher.
Enter the volume number or EESC catalog number in the “Volume” field. Complete the rest of the fields as you prefer.
We do not typically enter abstracts in the “abstract” field, nor should full text documents be uploaded.
